Often times when you buy your house, you inspect everything inside the house to make sure it is all intact- except your gutters. You don’t know you have a problem until your real first rainstorm, or when you pull into your driveway after work and see a plant growing in them. Gutters get overfilled and packed with debris which can cause many problems: foundation issues, gutters overflowing, leaks into your home, and can even cause your gutters to fall from all the weight inside them; which is an expensive job!
Depending on where you live and location of your home, we recommend to clean your gutters once or twice a year to prevent clogging, potential damage to your home, and to extend the life of your gutters.
We use ladders with stabilizers that allow us to clean your gutters safely and without damaging them. Every foot of gutter is cleaned from debris and is placed in either a bag or bucket to keep your landscape clean of the muck that might be in there. After everything is cleaned, we run a hose or a 5-gallon bucket of water down the gutter to make sure everything is flowing correctly, and properly down the downspout. All debris is removed from the property upon completion.
Black mold, and what we call “tiger stripes” is what is often found on the exterior surface of your gutter. Those streaks are actually caused by a chemical reaction that occurs between the asphalt from roof shingles and the aluminium in the gutters. We use a restoration chemical that breaks the bond of the dirt and the oxidation on the paint of the gutter with a soft bristle brush to make them look like new again. We do not clean gutters that have guards.
